Administrative Assistant (NOC 1241)

Administrative Assistants perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the managers and supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

Duties

In general, virtual duties would be to assist with:

  • Social media, creating content calendar, marketing
  • Bookkeeping
  • Prepare, type, edit and proofread any office correspondence, presentations, publications, precedents and reports
  • Maintain electronic filing system
  • Set up office procedures and required software/hardware
  • Create, update and maintain administrative policies and procedures manual
  • Update and maintain Health and Safety manual
  • Prepare agendas and record Minutes of meetings
  • Manage action items from meetings
  • Compile data, statistics, and other information

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software including MS Office and social media platforms
  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

Additional Requirements

  • Must not have allergies to animals due to working environment
  • Must be able to pass spontaneous drug/alcohol testing if required
  • Must adhere to company Vision, Mission and Core Values
  • Must adhere to company Health & Safety Plan
  • No smokers please due to working environment and on-site safety concerns
  • First Aid training would be an asset
  • WHIMIS training would be an asset

This position will be seasonal to start (April to September); however, we will be seeking a long-term team member.  If the successful candidate is interested in further opportunity there is a possibility of Skid Steer Operation, CNC Router, and hands-on installation training, as well as further Health and Safety training.
